Laura & Daniella’s Spring Wedding at Delamar Mystic | Mystic, Connecticut Wedding Photographer
Spring weddings in coastal Connecticut have a way of feeling both fresh and grounded, and Laura and Daniella’s wedding day was exactly that.
Their celebration marked the very first large wedding held at the brand new Delamar Mystic, and it was such a joy to document from start to finish. From getting ready together in the on-site cottage to sunset portraits overlooking the water, the day felt relaxed, heartfelt, and deeply connected.

I originally met Laura and Daniella through their dear friends Nick and Sev, whose Boston City Hall elopement I photographed last summer. Getting to see those connections carry forward into this wedding day made everything feel even more personal.
Laura and Daniella are both pediatric anesthesiologists, and that warmth they bring into their work showed up everywhere throughout the day. Their presence was calm and kind — the kind of energy that puts everyone around them at ease.
They chose to get ready together in the cottage on the Delamar Mystic property, setting the tone for a wedding day that felt intentional and unhurried. We took some portraits before guests arrived, allowing the morning to unfold naturally without rushing into the next thing.

Their ceremony took place on the back lawn, with the water nearby and spring greenery just beginning to come alive. It was emotional without feeling overly formal — the kind of ceremony where you could truly feel how supported and loved they are by their people.
One of the most meaningful moments came at the end of the ceremony, when Daniella broke the glass. It was joyful, symbolic, and met with cheers and smiles from everyone in attendance.

After a few newlywed portraits, Laura and Daniella joined cocktail hour, greeting friends and family who had traveled from all over to celebrate with them. The energy was already high when The Silver Arrow Band kicked off the reception, and it never dipped.
As dinner got underway, the sun — which had been hiding most of the day — finally made an appearance. We stepped outside for golden hour portraits, soaking in the warm light and a few quiet moments before heading back inside.
Later in the evening, Laura and Daniella changed into reception dresses and fully leaned into the celebration. The dance floor stayed packed, laughter filled the room, and the night ended exactly how it should — surrounded by people who love you.

From a documentary perspective, Delamar Mystic is such a beautiful venue to photograph. The mix of coastal views, clean architectural lines, and thoughtfully designed interiors makes it easy to move through the day naturally while letting moments unfold.
