Warm Rustic Farm Wedding at The Barn at South Farms

Anna & Chris were married at the rustic Barn at South Farms in Morris, CT. South Farms is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Connecticut, offering a picturesque, rustic atmosphere perfect for couples dreaming of a barn wedding in Litchfield County.

Anna explained that they chose the venue because she “loved the idea of it being in an old farm.” She also mentioned how scenic the location was during our consultation, and she was absolutely correct!

The rain was pouring down on Anna and Chris’s wedding day, so we set up their first look in the barn. With the barn door open, a nice mix of ambient light with a little off camera flash was just perfect lighting for the first time they saw each other. After a few quick portraits of Anna and Chris as well as their wedding parties, they prepared for their ceremony. Utilizing one of the buildings on the property to move their ceremony indoors, due to the rain, it was a very intimate scene. Surrounded by their immediate families, the pair said “I Do” surrounded by soft candle light and fragrant flowers. It was so warm, cozy, and romantic!

After the ceremony, we grabbed some family photos right where it all happened. After a couple of photos of Anna, Chris, and their dog, we then headed indoors to escape the rain and enjoy some speeches and toasts. Later on, the happy couple and I snuck out for a few last photos in the light drizzle. The soft light and raindrops made everything look so dreamy!

The Silver Arrow band had the guests dancing all night long and the reception was quite the lively party! The rain even let up so that guests were able to head out into the night and mix and mingle. The evening ended with breakfast sandwiches, which yours truly quite enjoyed.
